Live entertainment is well and truly back in the UAE with a slew of artists taking to stages across Abu Dhabi and Dubai. So, if you’re a lover of live concerts these are the all-important dates for your diaries. Curtain up – here are the best concerts in the UAE.

AP Dhillon: 29 February 2024

AP Dhillon straddles Punjabi roots and Western influences, fusing hip-hop, pop, and R&B into a uniquely soulful sound. His breakthrough came with the release of the chart-topping single Brown Munde in 2020, shooting him straight into stardom. Since then, AP Dhillon has been on a roll, churning out hits like ExcusesWith You and many more. With over five billion streams across all platforms, it’s safe to say that Dhillon’s music has become a global phenomenon. The upcoming concert at Coca-Cola Arena isn’t Dhillon’s first stint in Dubai. He graced the Expo 2020 stage in 2022, so expect an even bigger crowd this time around.

REWIND Festival DXB: 1 March and 2 March 2024

Prepare to immerse yourself in a spectacular celebration of the sounds from the 80s and 90s at Rewind Festival DXB. Building upon the success of the sold-out show in 2023, Rewind DXB is all set to recreate the magic with a spectacular two-day extravaganza at Bla Bla Dubai. Get ready to groove to the timeless tunes of ABC, Chesney Hawkes, Heather Small, The Real Thing and Wet Wet Wet. Tom Jones: 1 March 2024

Abu Dhabi is hitting the high notes. Saadiyat Nights has announced that the singing superstar Tom Jones will be heading to Abu Dhabi. Tom hails from Treforest, Wales. He first started performing with the Welsh group, Tommy Scott and the Senators. In 1965, he released his first album, Along Came Jones. His hit songs include Delilah, Kiss, It’s Not Unusual, She’s a Lady and What’s New Pussycat? Over his career, he has sold more than 100 million records and performed with stars including Cerys Matthews, Robbie Williams and Stereophonics.

Amr Diab: 2 March 2024

Egyptian singer, songwriter, and actor Amr Diab will perform at Abu Dhabi’s Etihad Arena this spring. With a career spanning four decades, Amr Diab has consistently pushed artistic boundaries by seamlessly blending traditional Arabic melodies with contemporary pop and electronic influences, giving him the title of the “Father of Mediterranean Music.” His career boasts a staggering catalogue of more than 30 albums, earning him the title of the best-selling Middle Eastern artist in the Guinness World Records. Atif Aslam: 2 March 2024

Atif Aslam will be joining forces with the Firdaus Orchestra at Dubai’s Coca-Cola Arena in March. This groundbreaking partnership fuses the contemporary charm of Atif’s chart-toppers with the symphonies of the all-female ensemble led by the talented conductor, Monica Woodman. His repertoire boasts popular tracks like Dil Diyan Gallan, Jeena Jeena and Rafta Rafta. Now, these beloved melodies will be brought to life in a new dimension as they intertwine with the orchestral magic of Firdaus Orchestra.

John Legend: 2 March 2024

Saadiyat Nights is an open-air musical event, which takes place on Saadiyat Island and John Legend is joining the star-studded lineup. John was born in Ohio, United States, he was a whizz at school and skipped two grades. He was even offered a place at Harvard University, which he turned down. The singer swapped books for beats. He went on to carve out a successful career spanning two decades. He is unique in being an EGOT winner, as he has won all the major entertainment awards – the Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony awards. He is no stranger to the Middle East. He has performed before at the UAE’s Emirates Jazz Fest in 2018, and a successful show in Coca-Cola Arena Dubai in 2020. He is expected to perform songs from his new and old records, which show off his soulful voice, keys and lyrics. All of MeUsed To Love U and Ordinary People are just some of the hits we hope he performs in the capital.

Khalid: 8 March 2024

If the tracks Love Lies and Young, Dumb & Broke get you grooving, you’ll be pleased to hear that tickets are now on sale to see the platinum-selling R&B superstar Khalid live in Dubai. The American singer-songwriter will perform in Dubai for the first time, taking to the stage at Coca-Cola Arena on Friday, 27 October. Khalid has risen to superstardom in the music industry due to his soulful voice, relatable lyrics, and genre-blurring sound. He has also been recognised with Grammy nominations and has collaborated with everyone from Alicia Keys and Billie Eilish to Normani, Shawn Mendes and Summer Walker. Elrow XXL: 13 April 2024

Hold onto your glow sticks, the electronic music festival Elrow XXL is back in the UAE. The must-visit rave is scheduled to take place on Saturday, 13 April 2024 at Dubai Media City Amphitheatre. Dubai’s Elrow XXL is set to be an epic music festival, which can hold up to 12,000 people. There’s even talk of one of Elrow’s largest stages – the pirate ship-like Rowmudas Triangle – making an appearance. The only confirmed headliner so far is DJ Fisher. His hits include Crowd Control, Oi Oi, Stop It and Ya Didn’t. Over his career, he has been nominated for an ARIA Award and a Grammy Award.

The Kid Laroi: 19 April 2024

Australian rapper The Kid Laroi is coming to Dubai’s Coca-Cola Arena on 19 April. The Kid Laroi started off by uploading music onto SoundCloud and signed a development deal with Sony Music Australia. His singles include Addison Rae, Diva, Go, Thousand Miles, Without You, and Stay, a collaboration with Justin Bieber. Over his career, he has collaborated with Miley Cyrus and Tokyo’s Revenge. BRED Abu Dhabi: 25 to 27 April 2024

At BRED Abu Dhabi, visitors can expect a packed agenda of performances by regional and international Hip-Hop and R&B artists, a curated retail experience featuring designs by global streetwear brands, popular street food concepts from across the region, gaming, basketball showdowns, and immersive art displays. The lineup includes British rappers AJ Tracey and J Hus, American hip-hop stars Metro Boomin and Offset, and R&B sensations Don Toliver and Ty Dolla $ign.

Arijit Singh: 27 April 2024

Bollywood’s very own Arijit Singh is heading back to Dubai and is poised to deliver an electrifying show at Coca-Cola Arena this April. Boyz II Men: 28 April 2024

Dubai, we have some sweet news. The American hitmakers Boyz II Men are coming to the city. Boyz II Men’s hit songs include End of The Road, It’s So Hard To Say Goodbye to Yesterday, and Motownphilly. The group have collaborated with famous faces, from Jimmy Jam to Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds, but it was their duet with Mariah Carey that hit the big time. One Sweet Day spent sixteen weeks at number one on the Billboard Hot 100. Over their three-decade career, they have won four Grammy Awards, nine American Music Awards, nine Soul Train Awards, three Billboard Awards, and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame

Blackstreet & Shaggy: 11 May

It’s time to party like it’s 1999 because the nineties acts, Blackstreet and Shaggy, are coming to Dubai. The reggae singer and rapper Shaggy hails from Kingston, Jamaica. His hit songs include Angel, Boombastic, It Wasn’t Me and That Girl. He has collaborated with Eve, Rayvon and RikRok. The R&B group Blackstreet were founded by Chauncey “Black” Hannibal and Teddy Riley. The line-up includes Chauncey, Levi Little, Mark Middleton and Eric Williams. Famous for their mix of soul and hip-hop, their most famous song is No Diggity. The 1996 smash hit featured Dr Dre and Queen Pen. James Blunt: 24 May

James Blunt’s upcoming concert at Coca-Cola Arena is part of his new album tour, Who We Used To Be. The show promises to be a journey through James Blunt’s musical evolution. Macklemore: 4 October 2024

Born Benjamin Hammond Haggerty, Macklemore is an American rapper and songwriter whose unique style and socially conscious lyrics have earned him a notoriety in the world of hip-hop. He gained widespread recognition alongside producer Ryan Lewis with their 2012 breakout single, Thrift Shop, which used quick-fire wordplay over a catchy beat. In a career spanning almost two decades, Macklemore has worked with Ed Sheeran, Idris Elba, Kesha, Lil Yachty and Martin Garrix. Wireless Festival: November 2024

Details about Wireless Festival Middle East 2024 are limited – there are no line-up or ticket prices yet, but judging from last year’s sold-out event, which saw 25,000 music fans descend on Etihad Park in Abu Dhabi, it’s expected to be a showstopper. The festival has attracted the biggest names in the music industry, with last year’s lineup featuring Travis Scott, Roddy Ricch, M.I.A., and Young Stunners.

6ix9ine: TBC 2024

Music fans, we have some big news. Controversial rapper 6ix9ine is coming to Dubai’s Coca-Cola Arena – and he’s bringing friends. The event forms part of the Sundance DXB Vol. 4 – Hip-Hop Edition and will see the rapper, known for the hit tracks GummoFEFE and TROLLZ, take to the stage. Joining him on the night will be British-Ghanaian artist Kojo Funds and the American rappers and frequent collaborators Polo G and NLE Choppa.
