Fashion and film combine in Timothée Chalamet’s new film, Marty Supreme.

Marty Supreme is making its mark on both film and fashion. Directed by Josh Safdie, the film stars Timothée Chalamet alongside Tyler, The Creator, with a clothing collection launching in tandem with its release.

Tyler makes his feature film acting debut in Marty Supreme, a high-energy period drama set against the underground world of competitive table tennis in 1950s America. The film follows the rise of Marty Mauser, a fiercely ambitious prodigy navigating smoky back rooms, hustlers and high-stakes tournaments, as obsession with greatness begins to blur the lines between talent, ego and survival.

Timothée plays Mauser, a fictionalised take on real-life ping pong legend and hustler Marty Reisman, capturing both his charisma and volatility. Speaking about his role in the film, Tyler said: “I’m so grateful — beyond grateful. I play the piano and put on cool clothes. I don’t act at all.”

Titled MARTY SUPREME (a collection by TYLER OKONMA), the accompanying capsule draws heavily from the film’s 1950s aesthetic. Standout pieces include a T-shirt featuring Chalamet’s Marty Mauser, Marty-branded button-up shirts, and letterman-style jackets referencing Tokyo, which is a key location in the film.

Beyond the screen and the clothes, Marty Supreme has already taken on a life of its own. Pop-ups have appeared across major cities, from London to New York, drawing huge crowds, lengthy queues and even police presence. The scenes have confirmed that the project has crossed into full-blown hype territory, fuelled by the stars’ fanbase and fashion collectors.

The full MARTY SUPREME (a collection by TYLER OKONMA) range will be available from 19 December on the Golf Wang app, the Golf Wang site and flagship stores.
