The Al Mamoura community is set for completion within the next two years.
A next-generation community is taking shape between the UAE’s two largest cities. Spanning 50 million square feet, the car-free Al Mamoura city promises homes, schools, universities, luxury hotels and one of the region’s largest shopping malls.
Set for completion within the next two years, the project is being delivered under a Dh2.47 billion land sale agreement between AD Ports Group and Mira Developments. Construction is planned along the highway that links Dubai and Abu Dhabi, positioning the development as a central hub for commuters and residents alike.
Mobility sits at the heart of the Al Mamoura masterplan. The entire city is designed to be car-free, prioritising pedestrians and public transport while aiming to eliminate the risk of road traffic accidents. To support that goal, the community will connect to the upcoming Etihad Rail passenger service, creating seamless links across the Emirates.
The scale of amenities is significant. Plans include a diverse mix of apartments, townhouses and villas, two five-star hotels and a collection of multi-branded properties in partnership with leading fashion, hospitality and lifestyle names. Leisure highlights will feature a world-class golf course, while education will be anchored by two universities, three international schools and eight kindergartens. The civic offer extends to three mosques and two museums, alongside the headline retail destination that will serve as a regional draw.
Sustainability is built in from the start. Advanced solar technologies will be integrated across rooftops, façades and shaded corridors, with the ambition to meet up to 60 per cent of the city’s energy needs through clean power. The pedestrian-first layout, shaded walkways and transit connectivity further support a low-carbon lifestyle.

We have full confidence in Abu Dhabi’s thriving real estate market and look forward to a successful collaboration with AD Ports Group.”
Captain Mohamed Juma Al Shamsi, Managing Director and Group CEO of AD Ports Group, added: “This landmark agreement with Mira Developments aligns perfectly with our leadership’s vision for sustainable urban growth, under Plan Abu Dhabi 2030, created to manage the Emirate’s growth in a structured and sustainable manner, and this project is a direct embodiment of its principles.”
