The event takes place in February 2026.

Art Basel can be found around the world. Now, the international art fair will make its debut in the Middle East. Art Basel Qatar is set to take place in February 2026 in Doha, and will bring leading artists, collectors and galleries from around the world.

MCH has created a partnership with Qatar Sports Investments and QC Plus. The first edition of Art Basel Qatar will take place at the creative hubs, Doha Design District and M7. The fair will showcase modern art, and is designed to introduce visitors to the diversity of the Middle East, North Africa, South Asia and beyond.

Her Excellency Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, Chairperson of Qatar Museums, Qatar, has been instrumental in creating arts and culture in Qatar. The country is already home to Qatar Museums, and developing Art Mill Museum and Lusail Museum. Plus, there is the permanent Qatar Pavilion in Venice’s Giardini della Biennale.

Sheikha Al Mayassa explained: “As part of His Highness the Amir’s National Vision 2030, Qatar has been transforming itself into a knowledge-based economy, with culture and the creative industries helping to lead the way. We have built a thriving ecosystem of culture and sports, harnessing the capacity of both to break down barriers, create shared experiences, increase understanding and drive positive change.

“As Qatar Museums marks its twentieth anniversary, we are pleased to welcome the Art Basel organisation as our partner to further elevate Qatar’s initiatives to support the creative industries of our region, offering exceptional new artistic experiences and opportunities to our talent.”
