Located in Alserkal Avenue, it will be a sustainable spot with an indoor farm.

The team behind One Life is expanding in the UAE. Located in Dubai’s burgeoning Alserkal Avenue, The Growhouse will open soon and focus on sustainability. The venue will be home to a café and an indoor farm.

The design for The Growhouse draws its inspiration from Al Quoz’s industrial legacy. The aesthetic is industrial chic with exposed piping, high ceilings, grey walls and greenery that adds a touch of colour. The space will include communal tables, which are great for groups.

One Life currently has venues in D3 and Jumeirah Village Circle. The Growhouse will operate in partnership with the UAE-based sustainable solutions provider, LetitGRO. The installation will include a regenerative biodiversity system. Plus, they will work with the local company, The Waste Lab, to convert food waste into a resource.

Ameen El Rhayem, Founder of LetitGRO, told Caterer Middle East: “The collaboration was a happy coincidence. We are regular customers of One Life, and the new concept was a light bulb moment through a casual discussion. The partnership makes perfect sense since the main purpose is education in nature, whether it is from Kelvin and Necip or LetitGRO’s side. One Life Alserkal will be a prototype of a successful business, productive garden, and restaurant and how they can come together under one roof. It is a whole new concept for Dubai, and we are excited to see it come to life.”

Necip Camcigil, Founder of One Life, added: “The journey restarted in February 2023, when a visit to Alserkal Avenue reminded us what a fantastic place it is to spend time in. Alserkal offers that same warmth and creativity, and we knew it would be a perfect fit for One Life. We are committed to giving back to the community by inspiring people and sharing what we’ve learned to reduce waste, recycle, and grow their own food.”

Alserkal Avenue is a vibrant hub where culinary artistry meets cultural creativity. Bkry offers inventive pastries and speciality coffees, Kokoro introduces the UAE’s first hand roll bar, LILA Molino + Café brings authentic Mexican flavours to life, and Nightjar Coffee Roasters stands out with its FACT award-winning artisanal brews. Chef Lynn Hazim is also bringing Middle Child to the complex very soon.
