Located in Four Seasons DIFC, it will showcase the flavours of Japan.
Dubai’s boasts one of the world’s most diverse dining scenes. Now, it is set to welcome a new omakase restaurant, KIGO. Located in Four Seasons DIFC, it will showcase the flavours of Japan. The concept is gearing up to open next month, and foodies are in for a wild ride.
KIGO aims to offer an unparalleled culinary journey. The chefs will showcase their mastery of the art of omakase, using only the freshest seasonal ingredients to create a one-of-a-kind culinary experience.
KIGO describes itself as sophisticated yet approachable, clean yet intricate, and intimate yet simple. The name KIGO refers to words associated with a season and is used in traditional Japanese poetry. The omakase concept translates to leaving it up to the chef and giving them the freedom to create the meal.

As you step into KIGO, you’ll notice a stone path within a garden, which leads you into an intimate 44-seat dining room inspired by Wa, the Japanese idea of harmony. In the centre, you’ll see a sushi counter made from rare Aji stone, brought from a single mountain in Japan. For a more private experience, there’s a room perfect for bespoke kaiseki or sushi omakase.
Once seated, you’ll discover a menu that changes with the seasons. Ingredients are only used when they’re at their absolute best, ensuring every bite is fresh and full of flavour. At the stone counter, you can watch the chef prepare a one-of-a-kind omakase just for you. Or, choose the set kaiseki menu for a true taste of Japan’s fine dining traditions. Pair your meal up with rare sakes, fine Japanese teas and end with a traditional matcha ceremony.

The concept comes to Dubai from Chef Izu Ani. He’s also the mind behind Alaya restaurant, Maison de la Plage, and the FACT Award-winning GAIA. Chef Izu was born in Nigeria, raised in London and now lives in Dubai. His London restaurants include GAIA London and La Maison Ani London.
Fundamental Hospitality is behind a range of restaurants. The upcoming restaurants also include Shanghai Me and Bund Lounge London, which will be located on the 28th floor of London Hilton Park Lane. Plus, in Dubai, the new restaurants include the African restaurant INA and the nightlife destination La Sombra at Maison de la Plage.

The company has plenty of fans, from FACT Dining Awards Dubai to Dubai’s royal family. Now, the group has more than twenty concepts across the UAE, Europe and soon, the United States.
