The hotel prioritises cosy, quiet luxury.
Dubai is known for its glittering skyline, record-breaking attractions, and boundary-pushing luxury, but sometimes, it’s the quiet spaces that leave the biggest impression. Enter Hygge Hotel, a new boutique concept coming to The World Islands in early 2027, where serenity, simplicity, and soulful living take centre stage.
Tucked away on one of the six themed islands at The Heart of Europe, Hygge Hotel draws inspiration from its namesake: the Danish concept of hygge, which celebrates cosiness, contentment, and comfort. Designed by HWKN Architecture, the hotel is expected to offer an intimate atmosphere that contrasts beautifully with Dubai’s high-octane energy. Here, guests can expect warm lighting, soft textures, and thoughtfully designed communal spaces that invite them to slow down.

The hotel will feature 96 guest rooms, each designed with a soothing palette of muted tones, plush fabrics, and wooden accents that provide a calm, almost meditative feel. The overall aesthetic is minimalist without being sterile, more Scandi chic than flashy resort. Expect cosy corners for journaling or quiet conversation, window seats for daydreaming, and terraces perfect for slow sips of coffee.
While Hygge Hotel will offer four dining concepts, the real focus lies in well-being and intentional living. Guests can unwind in saunas, explore tranquil gardens, or bask in one of the dedicated “quiet zones” designed to promote stillness.

The opening will add to an already eclectic mix of properties on The World Islands, which include voco Monaco, Côte d’Azur Resort, the Portofino Hotel and the soon-to-open Venice Hotel. But Hygge stands apart with its adults-only policy and boutique ethos, making it ideal for solo travellers, couples, and wellness-seeking urbanites looking for a conscious escape just minutes from the mainland.
Backed by the Kleindienst Group, the minds behind the broader Heart of Europe development, Hygge Hotel signals a shift towards emotive, experience-led hospitality in Dubai.
