Get your calendars out – exhilarating adventures, brunch and culture await.

It’s a new year, which means it’s a chance to try new things. Dubai is filled with concerts, new dining destinations, and plenty of entertainment options. Here are the best things to do in Dubai this week.

Monday 12 January

Dine at the newly opened Yu & Mi

Perched on the 36th floor of Mandarin Oriental Downtown, Dubai, Yu & Mi channels the cultural energy of 1960s Hong Kong with a two-part concept. Yu, meaning “jade,” is a lively bar where cocktails take centre stage. Mi, meaning “secret,” is a sleek dining room serving bold Cantonese and Sichuan flavours, reworked with a contemporary edge. Expect sharing starters like Crispy Duck Salad, King Crab Xiao Long Bao and Sichuan-glazed beef short ribs, before the tableside Peking Duck makes its ceremonial entrance. Dim sum trolleys roll through the room, while artisanal teas are prepared using the traditional Gong Fu Cha ritual.
