Sharjah’s flagship community is set to welcome a 400,000 square foot sports destination in 2026.
Arada has confirmed plans for a major sports complex at Aljada, adding fresh momentum to the fast-growing Sharjah megaproject. Construction is underway on a wide-ranging scheme that will anchor the community’s active lifestyle offering and bring a host of professional and recreational facilities to residents and visitors.
Set within a 400,000 square foot park, the complex will feature a full-size football pitch alongside smaller 5-a-side pitches for casual play. Court sports are well covered, with basketball, padel tennis, volleyball, squash and badminton all included. For runners and riders, cycling and jogging tracks will loop through landscaped areas, while families can make use of dedicated adventure play zones for children. The masterplan also calls for a water play area, two F&B outlets that include the Australian coffee brand Reformatory Lab, and practical touches such as changing rooms and public amenities.
The new complex joins a growing roster of premium infrastructure at Aljada. The wider development includes a futuristic business park, the Madar destination, and a cultural and performing arts centre designed by celebrated Japanese architect Tadao Ando. Together, these additions sharpen Aljada’s focus on community, creativity and wellbeing.

Spanning over 24 million square feet, Aljada is designed as a complete city with residential districts, retail, hospitality, entertainment, education, healthcare and sporting components. The population currently sits at approximately 20,000. Around 7,500 homes have been delivered, with a further 2,000 under construction. The sports complex is expected to enhance daily life for current residents while adding long-term value for homeowners as the project continues to scale.
Founded in 2017, Arada’s portfolio spans property development, retail, education, healthcare, fitness, wellness and hospitality. The company has launched multiple headline projects in the UAE and has expanded into the UK and Australia, while building a network of brands and experiences that includes large-scale gyms, F&B and retail concepts, social initiatives and visitor destinations.
Ahmed Alkhoshaibi, Group CEO of Arada, said: “The delivery of this world-class sports complex is in line with our goal to enable an active, healthy lifestyle for residents and visitors to Aljada. It’s also another addition to the world-class amenities we continue to build across the community, which consistently enhance quality of life and increase long-term value for our homeowners.”
